With countless people now working from home, many people find themselves struggling to set a schedule. Either they’re easily distracted by kids, pets, TV, and the like, or they sit down and start working and forget to stop because there are no coworkers poking their heads into the office and interrupting. Either way, a strange and often unanswered issue is when to break for lunch, and for how long.
Without question, every person needs breaks in the workday and food to fuel the engines. That said, there are no set patterns that are automatically better than others. The nice thing about working from home is that we can find what works best for us, create a routine based on that, and then move forward in a healthy way.
