The World Health Organization has announced it is adding Compulsive Sexual Behavior Disorder to it’s International Classification of Diseases. More commonly referred to as sex addiction or sexual compulsivity, this diagnosis is much needed and long overdue. In some ways, it’s like the implementation of official diagnoses for alcoholism and drug addiction in the 1970s. Everything about the way these issues are perceived changes. From a business perspective, organizations can now do a better (and more official) job of reaching out to sexually addicted employees and guiding them toward necessary assistance, as we’ve been doing for decades with substance abuse.
